Sandra Gore, CADC 1
Assertive Community Treatment Case Lead
Veterans Service Liaison
Sandra is a clinician with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team which is a multidisciplinary team that specializes in working with individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses whom need assistance with successful, independent living. Services provided by Sandra include medication management, counseling, case management, housing assistance, and care coordination with other providers.
In addition, Sandra serves individuals who are placed in her care by the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) and monitors these individuals closely. Individuals placed in this care have pleaded guilty except for insanity to a crime that was committed due to their symptoms of a severe and persistent mental illness. Sandra reports monthly to the PSRB on how these individuals are doing with the conditions of their release and reports immediately any concerns that may put the individual at risk of further legal issues and monitors behaviors to ensure public safety.
Sandra also serves as our Veterans liaison. She attends a weekly PTSD group for Veterans at the local Veterans of Foreign War post on Tuesdays. In participating in the weekly group, Sandra learns about the specific needs of our Veterans as well as the difficulties often encountered. Although Sandra has never served her country, she has an extensive military family history and is passionate about linking people to the right services based on their needs. It can often be difficult to find the right services and providers in our small community and Sandra is here to help our local Veterans plan and find needed services to ease the stress that is often accompanied in navigating multiple organizations.
Lastly, Sandra enjoys working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and working with Veterans by providing the support needed for individuals to thrive in their current situation.
