Supported Employment
Helping Great People Do Great Things
We believe employment enhances your health and self-esteem. Everyone has the capacity to work and contribute to their community. We work with you in finding employment or a career path that meets your abilities, strengths, and choice.
There are multiple ways to get started with us. You can inquire with anyone you work with at Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness about how we can help you get started with Supported Employment. We work with you to tie your employment goals to your overall life goals while working closely with your support team at Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness to make sure your goals align and you have the support to achieve them.
Who is eligible for Supported Employment?
Anyone! You could be a young person needing help finding your first job or someone with years of experience looking to make a career change or an established professional looking for a work environment that speaks to their life goals. Basically, anyone who is currently receiving services at Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness is eligible for Supported Employment.
What is Supported Employment?
Supported Employment is based on a nationally recognized model known as Individual Placement and Support (or IPS). This model is highly successful in helping individuals, like you, find and keep jobs. Supported Employment works to find you competitive employment with a focus on career development. Once a job is found, we work with you and your employer to provide support as long as it is needed and to help make sure you achieve your career goals.
