Counseling, Mental and Behavioral Health
Caring About You as a Total Person
Issues with mental and behavioral health, especially if they're chronic (persistent or recurring often), can be debilitating. Your body can respond physically to depression or anxiety much like it does to physical illness. And sometimes, mental and emotional problems can actually be caused by a physical condition. Your emotional and mental well-being plays a significant role in your overall health.
You are Our Number One Priority
We care about you as a total person, including your mind, body, and spirit, and believe that client-focused care is the fastest path to healing.
Our Mental Health Professionals will help you create a path to healing by helping you achieve your most important and meaningful goals. They do this by providing hope and empowering you. Through this process, you gain a deeper understanding of your mental and emotional problems and receive tools and resources so you can begin to heal and achieve a happy, hopeful, productive, and meaningful life.
Finding the Right Approach for You
Finding the right mental health professional and the right approach to therapy is important. Our access clinician, at your first office visit, will discuss how being engaged in therapy can assist you to meet your goals. They will want to know about what your symptoms are, how long you've had them, and what, if anything, you've done about them in the past. They will then match you to the right mental health professional that best fits your needs.
At your first appointment with your assigned mental health professional, they will probably ask you more about your family and your work as well as what you do to relax or how you have handled your problems in the past and just generally get to know you as an individual. This initial conversation is important in developing an individualized approach to treatment. Our goal is to work with you in developing an approach to treatment. Before you leave the office, the mental health professional will describe your plan for treatment and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
It will likely take several weeks before you become fully comfortable with your therapy. If you still aren't feeling comfortable after two or three visits, let your mental health professional know and explain why you feel that way. The two of you need to work together as a team in order to get the most out of your treatment. We want to work with you to help you succeed and heal. We also realize each individual is unique and sometimes we need to adjust treatment plans.
