Dr. Laurence Colman, MD, MPH, FAPA
Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Laurence grounds his work with children and teens in the incredible complexity of our bodies as biological and psychological/spiritual systems, and within the added complexity of our social lives. Regardless whether you’re seeing him for problems with attention, mood, excessive worrying or fears, school problems, suicidality, hallucinations, or anything else, you’ll always start with a 1 to 2-hour get-to-know-each-other session so you and he can develop trust in your work moving forward. And while he’s extensively trained in medication strategies, he never rushes to use medications. He does love when medications can play a helpful role, but he never sees medications as your whole solution in themselves. He coordinates closely with your primary care doctor to ensure both a more holistic understanding of you and a whole-community approach in helping you work toward your individual health goals.
