Ruel Samuels

Originally from North Carolina, Ruel holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work and a master’s in Social Work with a concentration in mental health and substance use. He often says the mental health field chose him, and while there may be challenging days, there has never been one he hasn’t found purpose and joy in the work. Drawn to the richness and variety of rural life, Ruel appreciates the unique sense of community and connection it brings. He has a particular passion for working with teens and supporting men in their mental health journeys.

When he is not working, Ruel is most at home in the great outdoors—cruising on his motorcycle, exploring new trails, or gliding across the water in a kayak. And don’t be surprised if he pulls out a deck of Uno cards. He keeps one close at all times, always ready to break the ice and spark a little friendly competition.
